AdministrationPrevnar 20 is administered intramuscularly1
  • Each 0.5 mL dose of Prevnar 20 is injected intramuscularly with care to avoid injection into or near nerves and blood vessels.
  • The preferred sites for injection in infants are the anterolateral aspect of the thigh and the deltoid muscle of the upper arm.
  • The vaccine should not be injected in the gluteal area.
  • Do not administer Prevnar 20 intravascularly.

  • Must be refrigerated (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze; if vaccine is frozen, it must be discarded.
  • Should be stored horizontally (on their side).
  • Should be administered as soon as possible after being removed from the refrigerator.
  • Can be administered if the total time outside the refrigerator (temperatures between 8°C and 25°C) does not exceed 4 days (96 hours).*
  • Supplied in 0.5 mL, single-dose, prefilled syringe.
  • The tip cap and rubber plunger of the syringe are not made of natural rubber latex.
